CCTD Rector Office to Close
The Rector office of the Clay County Times-Democrat will be closing effective Thursday, Nov. 1. The closure was announced Monday by the newspaper's parent corporation, Rust Communications.
The office on Main Street in Rector formerly housed the Clay County Democrat, prior to the publication merging with The Piggott Times to form the current Clay County Times-Democrat. After the merger in 2011, the majority of business operations moved to the Piggott location.
Subscribers with pick-up subs through the Rector office will be able to get their paper on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Afterward, their subscriptions will be adjusted and the newspaper will be mailed to their local address or post office box.
Single copies of the Clay County Times-Democrat will still be available for sale each Wednesday at Rector Downtown Drug and Harp's Supermarket, along with the vending rack at Flash Market.
Those wanting to submit news items to the newspaper may still continue to do so by mail at Clay County Times-Democrat, P.O. Box 59, Piggott, Ark., 72454 by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax at 870 598-5189. Subscription information may be obtained by calling the office at 870 598-2201. The Piggott office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and is closed Fridays.
