Jean Etta "Janetta" Harmon-Shelton

Jean Etta “Janetta” Harmon Shelton was born August 24, 1926, to the late William Arthur “Petie” and Fannie Lee “Laden” Harmon. She departed this life to be with Jesus on Sunday November 11, 2018, at the age of 92 years two months and 18 days. Janetta was a member of the Rector First General Baptist Church, and served faithfully until her failing health. She was married to Buell David Shelton on April 17, 1945, and walked through the joys and sorrows of life until his death on October 27, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Buell Shelton; one sister, Virginia Chapman; five brothers, Thomas Harmon, Glen Harmon, Jackie Harmon, Howard Harmon and infant Arthur Laden. Janetta is survived by her children, Sharon Crain of Branson, Mo., James Shelton of Paragould, Ark., Dianne Fraze of Branson, Mo., Marilyn Simpson of Sweetwater, Tenn., Barbara Jernigan of Branson, Mo. and Rita Hoggard of Russellville, Ark.; special family member and nephew, Rick Harmon and Donna of Colorado; 15 grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Erika, Alan, David, Jennifer, Julie, Lori, Mika, Marla, Jeff, Kara, Andrea, Mark and Jason; 28 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Gracie, Mikie, Matthew, Dallas, Austin, Westin, Gavin, Conner, Dawson, Reece, Carter, Lindy, Anna Kate, Logan, Lexie, Jacob, Kylie, Charlie, Liam, Emily, Kay, Johnathon, Katelyn, Wyatt, Sawyer, Molly, Braydon, A.J. and Hannah; a sister, Lena Fay French of Ward, Ark.; brother Joe Harmon of Nashville, Ark; along with a host of other relatives and special friends.

Visitation was held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Rector First General Baptist Church, in Rector, with the service following at 11 a.m. Interment was in Woodland Heights Cemetery, Rector.
