Seedings Set for WBU Tourney

The seeds have been announced for the 2018 Williams Baptist University High School Tournament, which begins Monday, Nov. 26. On the girls' side, nine time champion Marmaduke earns the top seed, while defending and eight time champion Tuckerman has the top honors on the boys' side.

Joining the Lady 'Hounds in the girls bracket are second seeded Corning, third seeded Tuckerman, fourth seeded Maynard, fifth seeded Pocahontas, sixth seeded Sloan-Hendrix, seventh seeded Rector, eighth seeded Hillcrest and ninth seeded Walnut Ridge.

Tuckerman is joined in the boys bracket by second seeded Bay, third seeded Marmaduke, fourth seeded Pocahontas, fifth seeded Rector, sixth seeded Corning, seven seeded Sloan-Hendrix, eight seeded Hillcrest, ninth seeded Walnut Ridge, 10th seeded Riverside and 11th seeded Maynard. The top five seeds all receive a bye in the first round.

The games will be played beginning on Nov. 26, with the championships being played on Friday, Nov. 30. All games will be played at the Southerland-Mabee Center on the WBU campus in Walnut Ridge. Those who wish can follow the tournament daily with updates at www.wbueagles.com
