Winona Ruth Baker
Winona Ruth Baker, 81, of Pollard, Ark., passed away December 3, 2018, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
She was born on May 28, 1937, in Zalma, Mo., and was the daughter of Noah Hale and Selice (Inman) Hale Ray.
Winona was united in marriage to Grover Cleveland Baker, Jr. on Oct. 14, 1953.
She was preceded in death by her father, Noah Hale; mother, Selice Hale Ray; husband, Grover Baker; sisters, Conneli Drew, Betty Clark and Yuanita McCall; and a brother, Noah Hale, Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Grover Cleve Baker, III, and wife Marcia, of Paragould, Ark., Brion Baker of Ash Flat, Ark., Steven Baker and wife Mitzi of Pollard, Ark. and Gregory Baker and wife Lisa of Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne (Laddie) Hickson and Thelma (Sonny) Kimbrough; a brother, Jacky (Donna) Hale; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, in Piggott, Ark., with Matthew Collier and Loy Culver officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery, in Pollard. Pallbearers will be Cary Wilson, Dave Harrison, Richie Culver, Cody Culver, Wayne Hendley and Marty Conley. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott.
