Tom Gross, 68, of Pollard, Ark., passed away December 4, 2018, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark. He was born on April 25, 1950, in Piggott, and was the son of the late Fred and Alma (Permenter) Gross.
Tom was united in marriage to Betty Gotthardt on June 8, 1974, and to this union a daughter, Kristen, was born.
He was baptized on June 1, 1960, at New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, where he was a member for many years. He was active in the church, serving on several committees and as an usher. He was a pharmacist for 44 years working for the hospital in Kennett, Mo. He loved raising horses and cattle and rebuilding saddles. He also enjoyed bird hunting. In later years, he loved spending time with his granddaughter, McKinley, and was happy doing anything she wanted to do.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gross of Pollard, Ark.; daughter, Kristen Culver and husband Richie of Pollard, Ark.; granddaughter, McKinley Culver; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, in Piggott, with Bro. Matthew Collier and Bro. Loy Culver officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers will be Gary Conley, Steve Baker, Teddy Harmon, Mike Ward, Wayne Hendley, Tommy Johnson, Charles Conder and Tommy Johnson, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Yount, Ronnie Neeley, Johnny Howell, Terry McLeskey, Spencer Permenter, Darrell Gossett and Jim Chandler. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott.
