The Rector High School Theatre Department is back in action, presenting its first production to the public this weekend. The special holiday offering, “P.S. Merry Christmas” will be staged at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, in the RHS cafetorium on 5th Street in Rector. Christina Boyd who teaches Spanish, theatre and oral communication is leading the students in this production.

“Have you ever received one of those Christmas letters, the one that’s folded up and placed in the annual Christmas card? The one that tells you far more than you ever wanted to know? In this play, the family has grown weary of helping mom write the annual letter and they leave Mom with the task. Mom writes the letter herself,” Boyd explains.

The cast is filled with teens of various ages, and their families and fans invite the community to join them in this journey through Christmas humor and poignant memories. This theatrical greeting card brings home the true meaning of family, of tradition and, of course, of Christmas itself. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased at the door.

Cast members are Morgan Denton, Connor Austin, Zane Holloway, Ashlyn Mills, Lauren Haneline (Saturday only), Bethany Keas (Sunday only), Paige Butler, Makenna Speer. Sawyer Hendrix, Emily Garron, Desirae Almquist/Anja Jevtovic, Thomas Anderson and Laura Johnson.
