Rector will come to life with the sights and sounds of the season the evening of Thursday, Dec. 13. Beginning at 6 p.m. the Rector Christmas Parade will originate from the corner of Main and Third Streets. As in recent years, the Rector High School Marching Band, under the parade direction of drum major Jacob Holmes and band director Kyle Kempf, will entertain the crowd with traditional Christmas tunes as they lead floats and marchers down Main Street and on to the community center. Serving as this year's Grand Marshal is long-time local resident, and community activist, Reuben Seay.

In keeping with tradition, the Rector Community Center is the end spot for the parade. Afterward, everyone will gather in the Crockett Multi-Purpose Room where the Rector High School band and choirs will perform for the audience. Hot chocolate will be served and a visit from Santa may always be expected.

The Christmas Parade and Reception have been a Rector tradition for years, offering a chance for the community to join together during one of the most wonderful times of the year.
