Piggott Spelling Bee Held

Eighth-grader Shawn-Hudson Seegraves won the Piggott School District Spelling Bee Dec. 12 at Piggott Elementary School. The top spellers will represent the school district in the Clay County Spelling Bee next month at Rector; Rector and Corning students also will participate. Other students who participated or were alternates in Piggott's spelling bee included, Sarah Wade, Maddie Martin, Eli Hartwell, Libby Brantley, Kendra Redmon, Izzy Miller, Jose Avila and Piper Burns; and back, Tamia Davis, Easton Laden, Emily Conley, Ava Baggett, Jina Clifford, William Lucas and Zane Wallace. Organizers offered their appreciation to Piggott State Bank for donating monetary prizes for spelling bee participants.
