Mohawk Shaw Wins State Indoor Track Title

Congratulations are in order for Piggott Mohawk multi-sport standout Gunner Shaw. Friday evening he won the 3A men's indoor 60 meter dash state championship at the Arkansas High School Indoor State Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville.

Shaw ran late, drawing the 12th heat of 14, but recorded a solid 7.27 for first place as he edged Bryson Bailey, of Waldron, who ran 7.3.

Also running in the 60 meter dash were a pair of underclassmen, Michael Parker and Logan Ralph. Parker was third in his heat with a 7.7, which was good enough for 16th, while Ralph's time was an 8.12 for 29th. The meet was held in the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Complex on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
