Lady Cougar Season Ends at District

The Rector Lady Cougars fell in second round district tournament play at Monette Tuesday night, dropping a 47-34 decision to long-time rival Marmaduke. The Lady 'Hounds now advance to Thursday night's semi-final, as they'll take on second-seeded Riverside in the 4:30 game. Meanwhile, Sloan-Hendrix eliminated the host Lady Mustangs 43-38, and they'll take on top-seeded Riverside in the 7:30 semi on Thursday.

In the boy's bracket, the host BIC squad squeezed out a 39-33 win over Riverside as they also earned a spot in the upcoming regional at Rector, and a semi-final appearance against top-seeded Bay in the late game Thursday night. The Marmaduke boys also earned a spot in the semi-final, and upcoming regional, with an upset win over Sloan-Hendrix 49-43. This sets up a showdown between the Rector Cougars and the Greyhounds in the 6 p.m. semi-final game on Thursday in the Mustang Athletic Complex. The finals in the girls bracket will tip at 6 p.m. Friday with the boys game to follow around 7:30 at Monette.
