Thursday, February 14, 2019

According to published and broadcast reports, the medical marijuana dispensary recently announced for Rector will instead be located north of Brookland. The company made the request to the state recently, and were granted the change.

The ownership group is NEA Full Spectrum Medicine LLC, which had also sought a license to operate a grow facility. The company filing noted the president is Gerald Scot Sale, of Piggott, and the principles include Teresa Gail Sale, Vicki Laree Benjiman, Jim Todd Watson, Elizabeth Ann Watson, the ownership of Al Williams and Sons Nursery, Tony Horner and Joshua Egle.

According to the reports, the company was chosen to receive the license due to the fact they were locating in Clay County, which is deemed as economically distressed. In requesting the change, company officials sited travel concerns noting the great distance between Rector and the other three dispensaries in Northeast Arkansas, all in the West Memphis area.
