RHS Hosting 2A-North Regional Beginning Today

Play is set to begin at regional tournament sites across the state, including Rector High School--home of the 2A-North regional for the first time.

Today's schedule is set to tip-off at 4 p.m. with four contests featuring the one-four seed match-ups. The first game will be top-seeded Melbourne taking on EPC, the six seed from 2A-6 in the girls bracket. The Cougars will also face EPC in their first round game at 5:30 as the Warrior boys team was also fourth in the recent district. The Earle Lady Bulldogs take on Sloan-Hendrix in the 7:00 game and the Marked Tree Indians face the Marmaduke Greyhounds in the late game in the boys bracket, set to begin around 8:30.

Thursday the two-three seed games will be played beginning at 4:00 and will include--Marianna Lee facing Marmaduke in the girls bracket followed by Earle and BIC's boys, Riverside and Clarendon's girls and Bay and Clarendon's boys.

The winners will be meeting on Friday in the semi's with the winners advancing to the finals. The first game to tip at 4 p.m. Meanwhile, the losers in the semi-finals will meet in the seeding games at noon and 1:30 Saturday afternoon. The girls and boys championship games are set for 6 and 7:30 that evening.

All of the semi-finalists will also advance to next week's 2A state basketball tournament, set to get underway Tuesday at Carlisle.
