The Piggott Mohawks remained unbeaten on the young season last Thursday with an 8-2 win at Corning, and Tuesday afternoon the pounded Osceola at home 15-3.

In the contest with the Bobcats, senior Dylan Bellers got the start, and the win, fanning four and walking one while scattering five hits over the complete game. Bellers also helped his cause at the plate, as he was three-for-five with three RBI including a home run. Clayton Kemp was two-for-three with a pair of doubles and Michael Palmer was two-for-four at the plate for the Tribe.

Holden Tarno got the start against Osceola, and the win, as the Tribe jumped on their visitors early and took a double digit lead into the third.

With the wins the Mohawks moved to 3-0 overall, and 2-0 in conference.

Meanwhile, the Cougars continue to have trouble scoring runs in the early season as they fell to Bay 3-1, and then dropped a 15-0 conference loss at Salem on Tuesday.

The Mohawks are scheduled to visit the Rector Cougars Thursday afternoon in non-conference play, weather permitting. The game will be played at the Rector Sports Complex if conditions are favorable. The Tribe is also slated to visit the Hoxie Mustangs in 3A-3 play Friday. The squad will then remain idle through spring break, and will resume play on Monday, March 25, with a home conference game with the Manila Lions.
