Piggott Chamber Hosting Color Run, City Wide Yard Sale
The Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors recently voted to move the date of the annual city wide yard sale to the first Saturday in May. In recent years the city wide yard sale has been held on the first Saturday in April, and coincided with the annual Piggott High School FFA open farm equipment auction at the fairgrounds. Several years of bad weather, including snow the past two years, prompted the change to May 4, for the yard sale, although the FFA auction will still be held on Saturday, April 6.
In keeping with tradition, the Chamber of Commerce will be formulating a list of those participating in the city wide sale, and the city-mandated fee will be waived for that weekend. Those who would like to be included on the list may submit their location to the chamber by calling 870 598-3167 during regular business hours or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Plans are also underway for a Chamber-sponsored 5K run later in the spring, and information on the event will be available on the square the day of the city wide yard sale in the chamber's tent.
After suffering through bad weather the past two years, the board of directors also agreed to move their 5-K Color run to the first Saturday in May. This year's color run is set to begin accepting registrants at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, with the run set to begin at 9. The fee for runners is $20 if received before Friday, April 19, and $25 afterward. T-shirts will be limited, so those wanting to insure they get a shirt in their size should pre-register. Entry forms are available at the chamber office in the depot during regular business hours, and may be acquired by email by contacting email@example.com
