The 14th annual Sun Senior Classic basketball games will be played Sunday, April 7, and among those named to the roster are two local players. Selected for the honor were Rector Lady Cougar Gabby Clark and Marmaduke's Johnna Rae Baine. Both guards will play for the white team, coached by Joe Baltz of Brookland. They'll be taking on the blue squad, which this year is being coached by Aaron Ballew of Trumann.

The girl's game will be the first of two played that afternoon at Don Riggs Hurricane Gym at Jonesboro High School, with tip-off set for 1:30 p.m. Around 3:30 p.m. the boys game will follow, with the teams coached by McKenzie Pierce of Blytheville and Josh Bateman of Tuckerman.

The games are held each spring, and serve to honor and recognize outstanding seniors from regional teams. The contests are sponsored by the Jonesboro Sun and Central Dealerships and proceeds benefit the Newspapers in Education program, which provides free newspapers to Jonesboro area schools.
