Glen Sain Invitational Set

The Jeremy McDaniel Memorial Sports Complex in Rector is once-again hosting the annual Glen Sain Invitational Baseball Tournament, with this year's event set for this Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13. Included will be three age groups, seven and eight year olds; nine and 10 year olds and 11 and 12 year olds.

“We want to thank annual sponsor Glen Sain Motor Sales, and Danny Ford, for his support every year,” organizer April Lindsey noted. “All the community is welcome to come out for good food and fun, and to support our youth. We'll have barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, piggy potatoes, shaved ice and more.”

Games will be played beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, with Rector and Corning meeting in the nine and 10 year old division and Rector's 11 and 12 year olds facing the Legends at 7:30. Piggott and Kennett meet in the nine and 10 year old division at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Piggott's 11 and 12 year old team taking on Caruthersville at the same time. Meanwhile, the Rector and Piggott seven and eight year old teams will meet at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Winners will advance in the bracket, while the losers will move into the consolation bracket.

The contests will be held throughout the remainder of Saturday, with the championship games set for 6 p.m. in the seven and eight year old division and 9 p.m. in the two older age brackets. In addition to the teams listed, also included will be the Titans, Sluggers and Legends in the seven and eight year old division; the Titans and Royals in the 11 and 12 year old division and the Titans in the nine and 10 year old division.
