Billy "Joe" Crosno
On the morning of May 12, 2019, Billy “Joe” Crosno, of Hoxie, Ark., went to be with the Lord. He passed peacefully in his home at the age of 78.
Joe was born to Coy and Helen (Patterson) Crosno on December 22, 1940, in Boydsville, Ark. In 1962 he married Jean Crosno in Hammond, Ind., and together they raised two sons, Mike and Steve Crosno.
Joe was a Navy veteran. For 14 years, Joe and Coy operated an over-the-road trucking company. For over 35 years he enjoyed operating Crosno and Sons Construction Inc.
Joe loved his family and his work. He was an avid duck hunter in his spare time. Joe was known for his contagious smile and great sense of humor.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his father, Coy; his mother, Helen; and a niece, MaryAnn Davis.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Amanda Crosno of Hoxie and Steve and Cindy Crosno of Hoxie; one sister, Fran Rose of Charleston; two grandchildren, Sarah Orrick (Logan) of Portia and Cole Crosno of Hoxie; and a great-granddaughter, Shiloh, along with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Friday, May 17, at Cox Funeral Home. Roger Brand will officiate. Interment will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Military honors will be rendered.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Glen Smith, Dennis Coggins, Cole Crosno, Carl Rose, Logan Orrick and Nathaniel Aaron.
Honorary pallbearers are Paul Propst, John Hambrick and Eggie Tedder.
