Louise Shelton, 89, of Rector, Ark., passed away at her residence on March 12, 2020. She was born November 15, 1930 in Kensett, Ark., to the late, Walter Cordell and Emma (Cable) Cordell Talley.
On July 21, 1947, at White Oak, Ark., she was married to Norman Shelton. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Karen Turner and husband Danny, Dana Street, Keith Shelton and wife Cindy, and daughter-in-law, Sterlene Shelton; along with one brother, Louie Cordell and wife Betty. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded by her husband; her parents; one brother, Bill Cordell; one son, Larry Shelton; two son-in-laws, Bill Street and Don Allen; as well as six sisters, Mamie, Lottie, Donna, Dorothy, Vergie and Charlene.
Mrs. Shelton, was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church since 1952, where she had served in many positions, such as Sunday school teacher, president of ladies auxiliary and as a song leader. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking for her family and going to church.
A private family graveside service was held Saturday, March 21, in the Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be donated to the Rector United Pentecostal Church at the following address--New Life Christian Center, 704 South Hickman, Rector, Ark., 72461.
