Mary Sula Gardner
Mary Sula Gardner, 92, of Rector, Ark., passed from this world on April 10, 2020. She was born in Marmaduke, Ark., to the late RW and Leona (French) Poppe.
She was a faithful member of the Evangelical Methodist Church, where she raised her family. Sula was one of the first employees to work in the Emerson Electric Plant in Paragould.
She enjoyed time spent with her daughters and their families. She had the pleasure of keeping her grandchildren and spoiling them. She spent much time working in her yard, and always had it looking beautiful.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Gardner; and her siblings, Victor Poppe and Mabel Hatcher.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Jim McClain of Kennett, Mo. and Sherry and Cam Cate of Rector; her grandchildren, Jeff and Lisa Deniston, Amanda and Will Nichols and Madison Cate and her fiancÚ, Noah May; Great-grandchild, Nick Deniston; along with a sister, Wanda and Ben Brown of Valencia, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evangelical Methodist Church at Hargrave Corner or the Rector School District backpack food program.
