Michael David Kemper
Michael David Kemper, 70, of Boydsville, Ark., passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was born March 30, 1950, in Jonesboro, Ark., to Woodrow and Lucille (Collins) Kemper.
Michael, affectionately known as Papa, was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was well-known as a jokester with a great sense of humor. He was an avid outdoorsman, who passed that love on to his sons. He was a kindhearted passionate man of God, who loved to share the gospel with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tommy and Larry Kemper; an infant sister, Sharon Kemper; his son, David Kemper; infant grandsons Brad, Chad and Tyler Kemper; and his stepfather, John Webb.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Shirley, of the home; his sons, Jeffery ( Barbara), Matthew and Stephen; a brother, Dwight (Judy); a daughter in law, Kerry; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandbaby on the way.
Michael was a graduate of Trumann High School and a member of the class of 1969. He was an ordained minister in the Church of God International. He also held a license in the Pentecost Church of God.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the Purcell Church in Marmaduke, Ark.
