Granvill Byron Crawford
Granvill Byron Crawford passed away on July 9, 2020, at the age of 79. Byron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing as well as spending time with his immediate and extended family. His professional life included positions at Abbott Laboratories in Waukegon, Ill., and working for Darling Store Fixtures in Paragould and Corning, Ark. His family and friends will miss his booming laugh, quick wit and warm smile. He was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed learning about U.S. history and the Civil War era. Later in life, he became an enthusiastic fan of the “Harry Potter” books and movies.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Crawford; as well as his children, Tammy Holman and Steven Crawford, who is married to Beth (Rickey) Crawford. He is survived by four grandchildren, Connie Hutchins, Jeffrey Holman, Zachary Crawford and Tori Crawford. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Taylor Murdie, Andrew Murdie, Brett Murdie, Kiersten Murdie and Gavin Holman; along with three great-great-grandchildren, Alexander Murdie, Violet Murdie and Leo Murdie.
Byron was the son of Howard and Jewell Crawford, and is survived by his beloved brothers and sisters Madge Callantine, Veda Holligan, Pat Dillard, Gayla Crawford, Wayne Crawford, Kenneth Crawford, Joey Crawford and Dale Crawford.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Crawford and Monty Crawford.
