Thelma Eldridge, 73, of Piggott, Ark., passed away October 27, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born on November 14, 1946, in Naylor, Mo., and was the daughter of John and Mamie (Summers) Shephard.
Thelma was united in marriage to Billy Eldridge in September of 1971.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Eldridge; father, John B. Shephard; mother, Mamie Shephard; brothers, John D. Shephard and Joseph Shephard; and sister, Louise Cartwright.
Thelma was known by many in the community as Ms. Thelma. She enjoyed fishing, feeding deer and watching the birds. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Williams of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; grandsons, Derek Eldridge of Pollard, Ark. and Jacob Householder of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; longtime companion, Jerry Chapman; brother, Phillip Shephard and wife Donna of Doniphan, Mo.; sisters, Janet Graham of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Martha Shipman and husband Bobby of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Laveta Ellis and husband Tom; along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, in Piggott. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held beginning at 11 a.m., on Sunday, and will continue until the time of the service at the funeral home.
