Betty Louise (Cox) Parks
Betty Louise (Cox) Parks, 84, of Piggott, Ark., passed away February 6, 2021, at NHC in Kennett, Mo.
She was born on March 31, 1936, in Greenway, Ark., and was the daughter of Delbert and Bertha (Neely) Cox.
Betty was united in marriage to Jack Parks on Oct. 8, 1952, and to this union three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Lee Cox; mother, Bertha Mae Cox; husband, Jack Parks; daughter, Melissa Parks; granddaughter, Beth Parks; brothers, Don Cox and Steve Cox; sister, Jeanie Myers.
Betty was a longtime businesswomen and was President of Cox Lumber Company in Piggott, a business where she worked at since 1964. She was head of the First Baptist Church Mission, where she volunteered many hours.
Survivors include her sons, James "Jim" (Vicky) Parks of Piggott and John (Maria) Parks of Baton Rouge, La.; grandchildren, James "Jamey" Parks, Jr. of Piggott, Ami (Matt) McGucken of Baton Rouge, Stuart Parks of Baton Rouge, Kyle Brandon of Paragould, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Welsh of Phoenix, Ariz. and Geraldine Cox of Scottsdale, Ariz.; special niece, Sherry Zoll; special nephew, Sam Cox; and many nieces and nephews.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., is in charge of the cremation arrangements. A private burial will be held at Piggott Cemetery in Piggott.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
