Delora Mae Turner Blumenauer
Delora Mae (Smith) Turner Blumenauer was born September 5, 1928, in Greenway, Ark., and passed from the cares of this life on Friday February 5, 2021, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Ark.
Delora was the third daughter born to John Frank and Ethel Mae (Hodgson) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Susie Clara Frederick, Nancy Louisa Key and Mary Elizabeth Herring; along with a son and daughter-in-law, Alvis Renee and Regina Ellen (Ray) Turner of Van Buren, Ark.
Delora married Alvis Y. Turner, and to this union five children were born. She is survived by her loving children, Rhonda Victoria (Turner) McKenney, Kerry Eugene Turner, Jackie Franklin Turner and Elisa Marie Miller, all of Piggott; eight grandchildren, Rachel (McKenney) Morgan (Mark), Garrett McKenney (Jennifer), Jennifer Dawn (Turner) Fournier, Leah Marie (Turner) McCoy, Kerri (Turner) Dees, Dustin Miller, Daniel Miller and Younion Miller; 17 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Delora went to work at Brown Shoe Company of Piggott when it opened and remained there until 1970, when she married Ted Blumenauer. They lived in Denver and Dumont Colorado for 38 years. After his death in 2008, she returned to Piggott. She knew the Lord from an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church of Piggott.
A memorial service will be announced later and details will be posted at www.irbyfuneralhome.com Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Piggott Mortuary of Piggott, Ark.
Visitation will be Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Piggott Mortuary with the memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating.
