They may be purchased at Centennial Bank, Rector Downtown Drug, Our Happy Place, The Caffeinated Cow and Big Time Pizza. All sizes are available for $ 20.00 each. There are no sizes smaller than a youth small. Also available are can koozies for $ 6.00 each. All checks need to be made payable to Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrests

According to a report from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, at approximately 12:46 p.m., a Clay County Deputy made a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Blazer just outside of McDougal. There were two occupants in the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, 42-year-old Tammy D. Lutes of McDougal. The driver’s window would not roll down, so she opened the door of the vehicle and a baggy with a white substance was in plain view. The passenger of the vehicle was 43-year-old Danielle Householder of Paragould. The deputy got both individuals out of the vehicle and conducted a search of the vehicle. Both subjects were arrested for possession of controlled substance meth and possession of controlled substance marijuana. They were both transported to The Clay County Detention Center.

Piggott City Council handles light agenda

Piggott City Council met on Thursday, Aug. 24 with Councilman Kevin Jones absent. Minutes from the previous month’s minutes were approved. Councilman Tracy Cole had questions on the financials with Jamie Spence to investigate her concerns regarding parks and recreation receiving a percentage of the sales tax, appropriations and a utility reimbursement. Cole also questioned the distribution expense on unbudgeted maintenance with Brian Haley it was informing that it was for transformers.

Annual fishing rodeo planned

The City of Piggott Parks and Recreation and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is set to host the 2023 annual family fishing rodeo at Heritage Park. This year’s rodeo will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 9. The event is open to those 15 and under. Organizers note only one pole may be used for each competitor, and there is a three fish limit. Arkansas fishing licenses are required for adults.
