Sunshine rules. We survived our first arctic blast of the winter and now it is sunny and not too cold out. The trees have about been denuded. Fall didn’t last very long. I suppose we need to hunker down now and wait for the next arctic blast. I have a feeling it will be on its way before long.
Cougars of the month of November have been selected. Seniors Parker Bucy and Callie Shavalia have the honor for this month. Teachers praised them both for helping others. This is the spirit of our community. Congratulations to you both. And thank you to Rector Downtown Drug Store for sponsoring this program. Keith and Shannon Hill are also always supportive of our community. Neighbors helping neighbors. That’s Rector.
This is Lori Dial’s birthday week and guess how she is celebrating. By entertaining us at the Rector Community Museum’s Third Thursday Mini-Concert. So, come help her celebrate at the museum at 7:00 pm on November 21. Admission is free although we do pass the hat afterward.
A reminder that The Rector Community Center will hold its annual Fall Craft Fair on November 23. If you have not been a vendor before and want to jump in this year, or if you have not received your registration form, call Linda Robinson at 870 595-3035 for a registration form. It is a lot of fun for everyone involved. The snack bar will be open for breakfast and lunch. Believe me that alone is worth going in for. Mark your calendars. It is a good place to pick up some unique Christmas gifts and it’s inside so rain or shine we will be fine.
We will have a community Thanksgiving Meal on November 24th at the Rector Community Center. The meal is free to all, sponsored by our local churches. Welcome one and all Sunday, November 24 11:30 -1:30.
I also want to let you know that a memorial service for Ruth Ann Vanlandingham will be held at the Rector First United Methodist Church on Sunday November 30.
