Donald Jefferson Box

Donald Jefferson Box, 82, of Piggott, Ark., passed away on September 9, 2023 at Piggott Healthcare & Senior Living in Piggott.

He was born on September 19, 1940, in Madera, Calif., and was the son of the late T.J. (Jake) Box and Ruby Williams Box.

Donald was united in marriage on July 14, 1963 to Sheila Ann Tate.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents: T.J. (Jake) and Ruby Box; two sisters: Barbara Box and Janice Psora; and his wife Sheila Ann Tate Box.

He was a graduate of Greenway High School in 1957. He worked for Donald Duck Orange Juice and sold insurance for Life and Casualty in Lake Wales, Fla., and then retired from Emerson Electric in Paragould in 1999.

Donald is survived by his children: Brenda Darlene Moore of Piggott, Timothy Wayne Box of Paragould, and Donald Jason Box (Jessica) of Piggott; three grandchildren: Bobby Ray Coyle III of Piggott, Olivia Brooke Box of Piggott, and Zoie Addison Pollock of Piggott; two brothers: Larry (Becky) Box of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Ted (Jeanie) Box of Batesville, Ark.; his sister, Doris Warren of Oklahoma, as well as three bonus daughters, Melissa Moore, Brittany Proctor, and Amber Clement.

He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, fishing, and watching baseball, old TV sitcoms, and westerns. He also loved going to his grandson’s band concerts in high school and college.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, with Bro. Shawn Parker officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.
