Linda Sue Conley
Linda Sue Conley, 79, of Pollard, Ark., passed away September 6, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born on December 17, 1942, in Piggott, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Willis and Pearl (Byrd) Johnson.
Linda was united in marriage to Gary Lynn Conley on June 4, 1960.
Linda worked at home keeping books for Gary Conley Maintenance Service for the last thirty plus years. She loved to sew and was piecing a quilt a few days ago. She also liked to paint and loved making “Nanny” cookies for her grandkids and church. Linda had a huge family and loved family gatherings. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Harold Book, Jim Johnson, Orville Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Melvin Johnson; nine sisters: Virginia Causey, Burniece Book, Earline Johnson, Florie Welty, Freda Holifield, Twila Causey, Wilma Causey, and Betty Brady.
Linda is survived by her husband and children, Marty (Lisa) Conley, Tenene (Dewayne) Holifield, Tony (Deana) Conley and MeChelle Conley; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Adelle Sauder; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Bro. Matthew Collier and Bro. Vance Turner officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Michael Dunham, Jeffrey Conley, A.J. Conley, Chris Dunham, Thomas Harris, Trevor Shelton, Alek Samples, Cameran Conley, and Kyson Conley. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
