1967 This week brought the tragic news of a car crash at Hargrave Corner that claimed seven lives, including those of 16 year old Adrian Kirk Renard of Piggott and 18 year old Mark Edward Todd of Pollard. The crash also killed two Rector girls, a young man from Illinois and a couple from Kennett. Two other young men sustained minor to moderate injuries, and a third Rector girl was transported to Memphis in critical condition...

Fatal shooting stems from domestic incident

The Arkansas State Police report that a 38-year-old Piggott man was shot to death late Sunday evening, after he reportedly aimed a rifle at Piggott police officers who had responded to a domestic incident in Shady Acres.
