J.D. Chadwick, 92, of Rector, Ark., passed from the cares of this life to forever be with Jesus on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, Jonesboro, Ark. He was born on September 1, 1928, in Violet Hill, Ark., to the late James and Mary Rosa (Soden) Chadwick.
He was a member of the Blooming Grove Missionary Baptist Church and served our country faithfully in the United States Army. J.D. was an employee of Emerson Electric, in Kennett, where he retired after 33 years of dedicated service.
J.D. was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nelda Joyce (Pruett) Chadwick of Rector; two daughters, Gayla Davenport (Jerry) of Cabot, Ark. and Dana Jones (Doyle) of Marion, Ark.; one son, Byron Chadwick (Mitzi) of Skiatook, Okla.; two brothers, David Chadwick of Lexington, Ky. and Mike Chadwick of Pocahontas, Ark.; grandchildren, Brittany Chambers, Brooke Davenport, Logan Jones (Claire) and Morgan Jones (Ethan Patterson); his great-grandchildren, Silas, Braylee, Adeline Chambers and Jett Jones; along with a host of other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 15, at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 16, in the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery, in Rector, with Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home, of Rector, in charge of arrangements.
Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 100 people will be allowed to gather inside the funeral home at one time. Those attending must practice social distancing, by maintaining six foot apart, and face masks are required to enter the building.
