Christene Belle Mayberry Pollard, 87, of Piggott, Ark., passed away on Sept. 7, 2021 at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born on March 16, 1934 in Piggott, AR. The daughter of the late Willie Mayberry and the late Effie Mae Gribble Mayberry.

She was united in marriage to Lee Hulen Pollard on June 30, 1951. To this union two daughters were born.

She was a life-long resident of Piggott. Christene ran a very successful beauty shop business for many years. She also would go up and fix hair for the ladies at the nursing home. One of her favorite things to do was play bingo with her two special friends Sadie Morgan and the late Edna Yates. Every 4th of July you would be able to find her either volunteering in the ticket booth or playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Hulen Pollard. Two sisters; Alice Wilkes and Ella Mae Mayberry.

She is survived by: two daughters, Lesa Davis and husband James of Piggott; Teena Householder of St. Francis; Nine grandchildren: Katrina Beaver; Camista Gallagher and wife Alex; Dustin Whitaker and wife Morgan; Colten Davis; Kenneth Davis and wife Amanda; Tanasha Householder; Amber Stewart and husband Derek; Kirstie Page and husband Anthony.

She is also survived by several great grandchildren: Cassie Hutsell, Shannon Hutsell, Brianna Hutsell, Alex Beaver, Bobby Hammack III, Serena Beaver, Clate Whitaker, Linkin Whitaker, Michael Davis, Sawyer Davis, Jireh Stewart, Jacquetta Stewart, Jacoby Stewart, Chase Leer, Wyatt Leer, Morgan Leer and baby Jasmine Rose Page.

She was also blessed to spend time with her four great-great grandchildren: Macee Blankenship, Snow Blankenship, Timothy and Liliann Beaver.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, with funeral service starting at 2 p.m. in Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Jerry Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Beaver, Garrett Pollard, Austin Blankenship, Nick Evans, Shannon Hutsell and Bobby Hammack III.
