Creating soap is not a difficult process – no more challenging than following a recipe for pastry and turning into a pie. With this in mind, a soap making workshop has been planned. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, and the registration fee is $25. Organizers note participants will receive a booklet with soap recipes, several bars of homemade soap, and the knowledge of how to become squeaky clean. The 2022 Kennett Municipal Band will begin rehearsals at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the Kennett Middle School Band Room, and continue rehearsals every Wednesday night during June.

The Rector School District is once-again taking part in the USDA Summer Feeding Program this year. Under the program, lunch and breakfast will be served at the Rector School cafeteria to anyone free of charge 18 years and younger. Rector will be offering the meals starting June 1, and running through July 29. No meals will be served the week of July 4 through 8.
Readers of all ages will explore all things about oceans this summer as the Piggott Public Library presents “Oceans of Possibilities” during their summer reading program. Activities may include music, crafts, games, books and special guests.
Rector sixth grade held their promotion exercises on Wednesday, May 25, in the Rector gym. The opening prayer was delivered by Aaron Causbie. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Braeden Brummel. Addyson Fields and Destiny Bailey performed the Star-Spangled Banner as if they were a professional duet. Throughout the gathering time the class slide show, created by Lance Mabrey, was projected for all to see, parents being able to order a copy if they choose.
Wednesday morning, May 25, saw large numbers of parents, grandparent, greatgrandparents, and a host of relatives and friends at one of Rector’s largest Kindergarten graduation programs in years. Enrollment for 2021-2022 surged to fill three kindergarten classes.
