TREE ID PROGRAM HELD AT HPMEC

The Arkansas State University Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center and the University of Arkansas partnered on a Tree ID program for the museum. Dr. Vic Ford and his team: Allsion Howell, Stewart Brunswick, Rae Dawson, Jerry Clemons, and Andy Vangilder assisted Director Shannon Williams with the program. Select trees were chosen to age and identify on the grounds. The trees ranged from 60 - 150 years of age. The trees will be a part of an outdoor exhibit. Canning workshop to be held

Powhatan Historic State Park will host two canning workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 and July 9. The cost of the workshop is $20 and reservations are required. Those taking part will learn the process and history of canning foods, and pick up some tips as well.
