Rector Community Museum Board recognized

“Nothing happens at the Museum without involvement of the Rector Community Museum Board,” said Joey Pruett, as he accepted the Innovation Award from Arkansas Delta Byways organization, the tourism division of Arkansas Heritage. The award paid tribute to the concert series for the Ford Room venue which has allowed the museum to offer entertainment to the community and feature aspects of the Museum while raising money.

FAIR T-SHIRTS ON SALE THROUGH AUG. 1

Clay County Fair t-shirts are available now for $15 each and can be purchased by calling Lisa Conley at 870-634- 6118 or message on the fairs Facebook page at Clay County Arkansas Fair Association. Organizers note that no extra shirts will be ordered and that Monday, Aug. 1 is the deadline to place your order. This year’s shirts feature the theme Rockin’, Ridin’ & Livestockin’.

MISS PIGGOTT 2022

Handley McAtee was crowned Miss Piggott 2022 at the annual picnic on the Fourth of July. She is the 15-year-old daughter of Bart and Laurie McAtee of Kennett.

St. Francis Picnic Pageant Winners

Carson Musgraves (center) was crowned Baby Miss St. Francis. She is the six-month-old daughter of Jake and Hadleigh Musgraves of Pollard. First alternate (right) was Lucy Kopiness the six-month-old daughter of Brent and Lindsey Kopiness of Rector. Ansley Risinger, the eight-month-old daughter of Hayden and Gabriele Risinger of Piggott was second alternate.

VBS FUN AT RECTOR

Pastor Ken Price at Rector First General Baptist said, “We had a GREAT Vacation Bible School at Rector First General Baptist and raised over $500 for the Faith Children’s Home in Honduras. Special thanks to Ben Yancey, Jesse Stokes and Dallas Gunn who agreed to take a pie in the face if we reached a certain goal. Illinois couple drawn to Rector

“The park (Rector Memorial Park) looks better this year than it has in years,” commented Leland Blackshare, Director of Parks in Rector. The compliment went to Charlie Manchester, official park overseer, who quickly passed the words of encouragement to new resident Dan Thompson who had casually begun a conversation on a bench at the park pavillion with, “What are you doing?” After an explanation, Thompson said, “Need any help?” It went like gangbusters after that.
