Sharon Kay Pendergrast, 74 of Piggott, Ark., passed away on August 17, 2022, at her residence. She was born to the late Owen and Juanita (Lawson) Sutton in Missouri. Sharon enjoyed her retired life reading and playing computer games. She was also a talented artist and enjoyed playing, Poker, Texas Hold ‘em and Slots.
William F. “Bill” McHaffey
William F. “Bill” McHaffey, 62, of Greenway, Ark., passed away August 26, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo., after a short battle with carcinoid cancer.
Nancy Maureen Fithian
Nancy Maureen Fithian, 75, of Piggott, Ark., passed away August 20, 2022, at her home in Piggott. She was born on September 27, 1946, in Galveston, Texas, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Twila King Massey.

Carolyn Johnson Waldo
Carolyn Johnson Waldo passed away in the Memory Care Unit at the Township Senior Living Center in Battlefield, Mo., on December 5, 2021. Carolyn was born on July 22, 1936, in Piggott, Ark., to Louis Dillard and Josie Agnes Johnson.

Parkin Archeological State Park will host a twoday Wild Clay Workshop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

1982 Lisa Evers of Rector was crowned Miss Clay County at the Clay County Fair Thursday evening. First alternate was Cristie Webster of Piggott. Lee Ann Cobb of Corning was second alternate. Lesia Campbell of Corning was third alternate. Fourth alternate was Lori Scott of Rector and Dawn Whitney of Rector was fifth alternate.
