Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Amanda Sale joins St. Bernards Clopton Clinic

St. Bernards Healthcare announced Friday, Aug. 12, that Internal Medicine Specialist and Jonesboro native Amanda Sale, M.D. has joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team. Dr. Sale stays with St. Bernards after graduating this summer from the organization’s Internal Medicine Residency Program (IMRP). A native of Piggott, Dr. Sale obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arkansas State University. She then completed a Master’s of Business Administration in Healthcare Management before earning her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2019 fromAmerican University of Integrative Sciences in Barbados. She now joins a team of more than 20 multi-specialty healthcare providers started by the late Dr. Owen Clopton nearly 60 years ago.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Veronica Easton joins St. Bernards Clopton Clinic

St. Bernards Healthcare announced Friday, Aug 12, that Internal Medicine Specialist and Jonesboro native Veronica Easton, M.D. has joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team. Dr. Easton arrives at St. Bernards after completing a Palliative Care Fellowship with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis.

Homegrown by Heroes scholarship offered for agriculture training

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture and Farm Credit Associations of Arkansas are partnering to provide a $1,000 Homegrown by Heroes scholarship to military veterans and active military personnel to attend the Center for Arkansas Farm and Food’s Farm School, a comprehensive training program for new or beginning specialty crop producers. Funding for the scholarship is generously provided by Farm Credit. Applications are due Sept. 1, 2022 and are availa b l e at: agriculture.arkansas.gov/ arkansas-department-of-agriculture- programs/.

Poultry testing and preregistration set for fair

All poultry to be entered in the 2022 Clay County Fair beginning Sept. 14 must be tested negative for Pullorum Typhoid to comply with Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission regulations. Testing and pre-registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 only in the show barn at the fairgrounds.
