Mohawk Pre-Season Football Scrimmages set against Westside
Piggott Mohawk Football will host a pre-season scrimmage game against the Westside Warriors on Monday, Aug. 15 starting at 6 p.m. with a short, controlled Junior High scrimmage. Senior High scrimmage game will start at 7 p.m. Regular season will start Sept. 1 with Junior High A and B teams versus Harrisburg. The senior Mohawks will play Sept. 2 versus Paragould.

Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce to host marketing workshop
Robert Bahn, from ASU, will be at the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce office on Thursday, Aug. 11, to present a Marketing Small Business Workshop. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. until noon. Individual counseling will be available from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The training session and counseling session is free but registration is required.
Application deadline approaches for PN programs at Three Rivers College
The application deadline for the one-year Practical Nurse (PN) certificate programs at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff and Sikeston is Oct. 1, with classes beginning in January. The Three Rivers Practical Nurse programs prepare students to sit for the NLCEX PN exam to become a licensed practical nurse. LPNs usually work under the supervision of registered nurses, physicians, and/or dentists and provide simple nursing care for patients who are experiencing common, well-defined health problems. Demand for LPNs is strong now and into the future. The career offers good-paying jobs with good benefits. LPNs who want to continue to advance in their careers can apply to the TRC LPN-RN Bridge program.
