The application deadline for the one-year Practical Nurse (PN) certificate programs at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff and Sikeston is Oct. 1, with classes beginning in January.
With back-to-school time just around the corner, another traditional event is set for the coming weekend as Arkansas will hold its annual sales tax holiday on specific items Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7.
Piggott Elementary School will hold open house from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, for those students entering kindergarten. Girls will attend school on Monday, Aug. 15 with the boys attending school on Tuesday, Aug. 16. All kindergarten students will attend on Wednesday, Aug. 17. “This helps ease the transition of kindergarten students and allows teachers more time to access the students as well as getting to know them,” commented Piggott Elementary Principal Erica Harris.
Robert Bahn, from ASU, will be at the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce office on Thursday, Aug. 11, to present a Marketing Small Business Workshop. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. until noon. Individual counseling will be available from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The training session and counseling session is free but registration is required.
