Quilting workshop planned

Quilting, a popular pastime, joined together not only pieces of fabric, but people’s lives. With this in mind, a Beginners Quilting Workshop has been planned at Powhatan Historic State Park. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, and the registration fee is $15. Organizers note participants will learn the basics of quilting: from piecing the squares, layering the quilt, and the quilting stitch. Fee includes all materials and class size is limited. Those wanting more information, or to register, may contact Powhatan Historic State Park at 870-878- 6765 or by email at powhatan@arkansas.com
