Shade Trees on Playgrounds program accepting school applications
The Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division is accepting applications for the 20-year anniversary of the Shade Trees on Playgrounds (STOP) program through Oct. 3, 2022. Arkansas schools needing additional shade on playgrounds can find the STOP program application and guidelines at agriculture.arkansas.gov/ forestry/urban-community- forestry/stop-program/.
RHS to participate in College Application Month
In an effort to promote college awareness and access, Rector High School will participate in College Application Month, sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Career and Technical Education (ADE-DCTE), during the month of October.

Rector bass teams compete at Norfork Lake
The weekend of Sept. 10-11 proved to be a good weekend for the Rector Junior and Senior High Bass teams. The Junior High team consists of Landen Palmer and Collin Jetton, and on the Senior High team is Grayson Bryant and Hayden Vavak.

Mohawks lose hard fought game to Indians
Friday, Sept. 16, the Piggott Mohawks traveled to Marked Tree to play against the Indians.

Mohawk tennis travels to Pocahontas
Piggott Mohawk tennis boys and girls traveled to Pocahontas Monday, Sept. 12 to take on the Redskins tennis team.

Mohawk volleyball hosts Greyhounds
Lady Mohawk Volleyball hosted the Newport Greyhounds on Sept. 15 with all teams playing.

Rector 4-H Club wins big at Clay County Fair
Rector Cougar 4-H Club had many members participate in the Clay County Fair held Sept. 14-17 at Piggott. Members Reinslynn and Latigo Henson, Jayden Drope, McKenzie Champion, Hallie Simpson and Sam Shipley all entered crafts in the exhibit building.
Clay County Fair parade winners announced
Clay County Fair Association has announced the winners of Saturday’s parade. Winning first place in the floats was the Rector Cougar 4H, second place was Girl Scout Troop 3016 and taking third was the Piggott Boys Memorial Float.
