Rector Halloween Block Party set

A Rector Halloween Block Party is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Rector Memorial Park. Among the activities will be a trunk or treat, bounce houses, hayrides, games and prizes. Also being offered are hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and more. The event is being hosted by the local churches and is a free community event for the whole family.

Kenneth Dale Milde, 81, of Piggott, Ark., passed away October 12, 2022, at his home. He was born on August 27, 1941, in Greenway, Ark., and was the son of the late Carl James and Flora Ellen (Jones) Milde.

James Woodie Dale

James Woodie Dale, 96, of Piggott, Ark., passed away October 10, 2022, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott. He was born on January 28, 1926, in Blue Cane, Ark., and was the son of the late Woody and Gladys McClusky Dale.

Demolition derby planned Saturday

The last demolition derby action of the season will be featured Saturday evening in the arena of the Clay County Fairgrounds in Piggott. The excite-ment will begin at 6: 30 p. m. with the pee wee event while the main event will follow at 7. Admission is $ 10 for adults and $ 5 for kids ages six to 12, while kids five and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $ 15 and must be purchased at the back gate. There are no exceptions, and everyone in the pit area must have a pit pass. The public is also reminded to visit the concession stand, where they can enjoy an outstanding selection.
