Program planned at RCM military room

Veterans Day, November 11, recognizes and celebrates every American who donned the uniform of one of America’s Armed Services. Once celebrated as Armistice Day, the day WWI, known as The Great War, concluded hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany, Veterans Day gives non-veterans a chance to say “Thank you for your service.” In fact, the armistice went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11 is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”

Community pep rally planned at Rector

A community pep rally and bonfire will be held Thursday Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m., next to Paul Temerian Field in Rector. The Cougars will play Strong Friday night in the first round of playoffs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance on gofan.co. Senior night fes-tivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. Senior football players, cheerleaders and band members will be recognized.
