“All the booths are filled,” reported Community Center Director Linda Robinson, when speaking of the Rector Crafts Fair to be held Nov. 19, with breakfast being served in the dining room for early birds. No charge for admission, but shoppers may buy tickets for a door prize.
Clay County Department of Human Services is now accepting applications from families for their annual Christmas assistance project. Applications will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 2, at the DHS office in Piggott or at Riverbank at 309 South Missouri Ave, Corning.

There is a special program taking place this month to provide a creative outlet for veterans. The Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home and Southern Tenant Farmers Museum will host a Veterans Songwriting Retreat on Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12, in collaboration with Freedom Sings.

Plans are complete, as the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to host their annual Christmas Fest on Saturday, Dec. 3. Activities are slated from noon to 4:30 p.m. on the square in downtown Piggott, followed by the annual Christmas Parade at 5 p.m.
