Rector General Baptist Church to stage live nativity scene
When was the last time you saw a live nativity scene? Was it when you turned the corner at Monette, coming home to Clay County? Was it at Hitt’s Chapel Church along with streams of linedup cars before they stopped their production in 2014? Or was it in the movie “Home Alone” when Kevin was hiding from the bad guys? It’s been a while, though.
Deadline nears for DHS Christmas project
Clay County Department of Human Services is now accepting applications from families for their annual Christmas assistance project. Applications will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 2, at the DHS office in Piggott or at Riverbank at 309 South Missouri Ave, Corning.

Holiday Tour of Homes planned Dec. 11
The traditional Holiday Tour of Homes will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11. Tickets are $25 each and are limited. The 2022 tour will fea-ture the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and the homes of Roger and Suzie Morris, Joe and Tracy Cole and Mark and Tonya Smith.

Rector Christmas Parade set for Dec. 4
Rector Chamber of Commerce annual Rector Christmas Parade is set for 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. Lineup will take place at 3rd and Main Streets. Floats, side-bysides, walking groups, riding groups are welcome. If you have Christmas spirit, you can share it in the Rector Christmas Parade.
