Locals named to TRC Dean’s List

Three Rivers College has released its Dean’s List for the Fall 2022 semester. The honor is awarded to students taking 12 or more credit hours in a semester, who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Dean’s List honors are also used at graduation to help determine eligibility for honors or highest honors.Among those rec-ognized from Clay County include Jordan Ralph, Miranda Stanley, Carlie Vancil, Emily Welty, Rebecca Woolery, Callie Henson and Veronica Lee.

Larry Henderson Essman

Larry Henderson Essman, 81 of Rector, peacefully passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at his home in Rector after a two-and-ahalf- year battle with cancer. Larry was born May 6, 1941 to the late William and Lucy (Huckabay) Essman. He was a graduate of Rector High School. He was a lifelong resident of Rector. He and his wife Betty (Randleman) recently celebrated 60 years of marriage He is survived by his wife Betty, son Danny Essman of Rector, a granddaughter Kaitlyn Essman Sitz (Jackson) of Jonesboro and numerous relatives and friends.

Gospel concert planned Thursday at Ford Room

Two gospel singers you never heard of will be performing at the Ford Room at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19 , doors opening at 6 p.m. for browsing and buffet grazing. That you’ve never heard of these singers must not keep you away from the event because these gospel singers have cre- dentials you’ll appreciate. By the way, you’ve heard them sing and when that first phrase of melody caresses your ears, you’ll remember, but you probably don’t remember their names.
