Mohawk Hoops Update: defeat Gosnell for first time since 2015

Monday, Jan. 9 the Mohawk boys hosted the Bobcats of Walnut Ridge on the home court. Walnut Ridge led the Mohawks 2919 at half time with the Piggott boys not being able to catch up and lost with a score of 71 WR to Piggott’s 47. Nate Brantley led the scoring with 17 points for the night with Shawn-Hudson Seegraves making 12 points and 11 rebounds. William Lucas scored nine, Ashton Lemmons four, Austin Seal and Cole James two and Joe Carpenter scored one.

Cross-stitch workshop set at Powhatan State Park

Powhatan Historic State Park will host a cross-stitch workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4. The cost of the workshop is $20 and reservations are required. Those taking part will learn that cross-stitching is not only the oldest form of embroidery, but also one of the easiest to learn. Participants will learn basic stitch techniques, pattern reading, and will stitch one of several historic or modern patterns of their choosing. The registration fee covers the cost of materials but participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
