The Greater Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce Annual Eureka Springs Chocolate Lover’s Festival is one of the most beloved events in the area. This unique festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 , at the Eureka Springs Community Center.
Bradbury Art Museum (BAM) at Arkansas State University will open two exhibitions, “Moon Shine” and “Inspired 8,” with a public reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19. Bradbury Art Museum is in Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Dr.

Piggott Health System recently hired Nurse Practitioner, Matthew Moses, to see patients at the Campbell Medical Clinic in Campbell, Mo. Moses is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over twelve years of experience and is excited to work in his hometown of Campbell. He comes from a family of nurses; his mother and father are both RNs and his sister is also a Family Nurse Practitioner. Moses says “Pediatrics are always my favorite. I love working with kids”. He joins Dr. Sheridan, Dr. Beach and Dana Cooper, Family Nurse Practitioner, at the Campbell Medical Clinic, a Rural Health Clinic providing primary adult and pediatric care, vaccinations, wellness exams, physicals for work and school, laboratory and radiology services, DOT exams, and same-day sick visits.
The Clay County Extension Service is offering its annual pesticide applicator training at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Extension office located at 148 East Main in Piggott. The training is required for agriculture producers to qualify for license to purchase restricted pesticides. The class costs $20 and those interested must be present for the entire training session to be certified for a license from the Arkansas State Plant Board. Top spellers in the Piggott School District were selected Wednesday, Dec. 7, in a spelling bee at the Piggott Elementary School library that included students from fourth through eighth grades.
Another 2023 reading challenge proposes the division of the United States into specific geographic regions and reading a book set in each section. By reading Nevada Barr’s series of books featuring the National Park System as the various settings, the reading challenge for me has already been accomplished.
National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2023 was Monday, Jan. 9 — and many around the country found ways to say “thank you” to local law enforcement as did the Piggott Cemetery Association.
