The Bay Yellowjackets basketball teams, their parents and team sponsors invited the Rector Cougars and their faithful followers to combine efforts for the Make a Wish Foundation and the fund raising effort underway. That’s exactly what happened, though the games were postponed until Saturday, Feb 4, at Bay. Local chairman of Make a Wish, Sarah Pruett Boyd, was enthusiastic about the help, support, and fund-raising joint effort through both communities. Rector falls to 19-4 (10-3) with a 61-54 loss at Bay. Kameron Jones led the way with 18 points, Cash Lindsey added 14 and Cooper Rabjohn chipped in 12. A Best Care workshop is planned for childcare providers in Clay, Greene, Lawrence, and Randolph Counties from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, 106 E.
