Zane Holloway named 2022 Presidential Scholar

After working for the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center for 20 years, guide Karen Trout is retiring. Trout commented, “I love all the visitors I get to meet. I even met Hemingway’s grandson John. I will miss all my co-workers, all of them are phenomenal.”
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum has announced the April reading retreat has been rescheduled to Sept. 22 and Sept, 23, 2023, due to conflicts. Micha H. Harrell of Piggott was named to the University of Central Arkansas fall 2022 Dean’s List.
Makayla Allman, of Piggott, has been named to the fall 2022 Chancellor’s List at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. UA Little Rock recognizes superior academic performance at the end of each semester.
The next meeting of the Black River Technical College (BRTC) Board of Trustees is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2. The meeting will be held at the BRTC Paragould location in the Academic Center Room PAC 128.
The 4-H Tech Changemakers are excited to announce a workshop teaching technical skills for work and personal life. The workshop is free and open to everyone. The next workshop will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Piggott Public Library located at 361 W. Main St. The lesson will focus on phishing and other digital questions and answers. You are asked to bring your digital device (cell phone, iPad, laptop, etc.) that you would like additional help operating.
