Bradbury Art Museum announces exhibitions
Bradbury Art Museum (BAM) at Arkansas State University announces the 27th year of Delta National Small Prints Exhibition (DNSPE), alongside a solo exhibition by interdisciplinary printmaker Lauren Kussro, with their opening reception set for 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.
Meet and greet planned for Rector mayor Feb. 26
The Rector Area Chamber of Commerce will host a drop-in meet and greet for Mayor Shawn Brandon from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Rector Chamber Office.

Fine Free February being observed at local libraries
Throughout the remainder of the month, the Piggott and Rector Public Libraries will be observing “Fine Free February.” During the month of February library patrons may return late items without a fine, whether the item is just a few days late or more than a year. The only fines not included in the forgiveness are those currently on account which had already been accrued. Those wanting additional information may call the Piggott Public Library at 870-598-3666 or the Rector Public Library at 870-595-2410 during regular business hours.
Hershel “Eddie” Todd
Hershel “Eddie” Todd, 78, of Rector, Ark., passed away December 27, 2022, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark. He was born on October 12, 1944, in Nimmons, Ark., and was the son of the late Hershel Alfred and Rachel Ann Osman Todd.
Gary Howell
Gary Howell, 79, of Piggott, Ark., passed away February 12, 2023, in Piggott. He was born on January 20, 1944, in Nimmons,Ark., and was the son of Roy and Lorene (Broadway) Howell.
All Valentines Party set at Ford Room in Rector
At the Ford Room inside the Rector Community Museum on Main Street in Rector, a fun and festive Valentine Party is planned, featuring favorite vocalist Vicki Bishop who will present a program entirely of love songs on Feb. 16, doors opening at 6 p.m. for browsing the museum and enjoying a delicious buffet, free of charge.
PHS marks basketball homecoming
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, the 2023 Mohawk Basketball Homecoming Royalty was introduced prior to the contest with Riverside. Afterward the Tribe had an exciting game against the Rebels which unfortunately ended in a loss for the Mohawks.
