Senior Night for the Lady Cougars came with a strange cake-walk of a game, courtesy of the Corning Bobcat “B” team. The game between the senior varsity teams had been scheduled for the entire season, but the contest became “iffy” when Corning, playing is a different district larger-school alignment, notified Rector Athletics that their “A” squad had played extra games this week because of make-ups and in going into post-season play, they did not want to risk injury. They wished to cancel the game altogether. Because the game was part of senior night celebration for Rector, the Corning coaching staff understood the situation and sent their “B” team so that a game could be played.
